Hello, my name is Carey Stewart and I am an Equine instructor at Martin Community College on the coast of North Carolina.  This is my fifth year of teaching at the college, and I absolutely love my job. I am originally from the Mountains of NC, where I grew up trail riding in DuPont, Turkey Pen, and Cold Mountain among others.  Horses have been a part of my life since I was born; moving into adulthood I knew I wanted to make horses my career. This led me to obtain my Associates, Bachelor’s, and Master’s degrees in Equine Studies. I also have my Open Show judge’s card, which allows me to meet many people in the Equine community.  I am passionate about protecting (and growing) our horse community, and industry, and would be a dedicated member of the Horse Council Board. Since I have lived on both ends of North Carolina, shown, and judged in numerous places all across our state, I feel I have a great deal of knowledge regarding our state’s equine population, and what we strive to accomplish as an industry.
