Harrison Todd was born and raised in North Carolina. Growing up on the Todd’s family farm in Zebulon, he learned the importance of hard work and integrity. He has been in the equine industry for 21 years. His passion for horses and giving back through community outreaches are energizing a spirit of unity all across North Carolina.
Harrison is employed with the City of Raleigh Fire Department. He is also the owner and operator of HT Ranch and Stables in Wendell. When Harrison is not battling fires, he’s breaking diversity barriers and impacting generations with his country lifestyle. As an active Member of the American Quarter Horse Racing Association, Harrison and his racing partners house and train horses to compete in different circuits across the United States.
Harrison is dedicated to showing youth and young adults the enjoyment of agriculture and horsemanship. He uses HT Ranch and Stables as a chance to offer mentorship and part-time work to youth with an interest in the equine industry. Over the past few years, Harrison has partnered with various businesses to host events for the community and educate people about horses and horse care.
Creating outdoor events like bonfires, trail rides and open barn days, Harrison is uniting equestrians with communities all across our state. Over the past few years, these events have been known to draw thousands of people to Zebulon. Harrison is also one of the main horsemen featured in the Emmy-Award winning documentary, Black Country, which is currently streaming on the WRAL-TV digital channel. Harrison has also made several appearances on WRAL News for his community projects.
The North Carolina Horse Council is known for being the voice of the equine community through education, communication and representation. Harrison Todd would be a great addition to the board because of his innovative thinking and passion for the industry. His ability to lead, motivate and inspire would prove to be a great asset to this amazing Council full of positive influencers and zealous.
