Year of the Trail Photo Submission

Photo Submission – Year of the Trail – 2023 – Urgent, Let’s put horses first.

Governor Cooper has declared 2023 the Year of the Trail. Trail user groups have banded together to make North Carolina the Great Trail State. Part of this effort is to plan a year- long celebration of our trails in all 100 counties in North Carolina during 2023 and beyond.

NC Year of the Trail offers a once in a generation opportunity to focus public attention on the benefits trails provide to communities across the State. North Carolina’s equestrian, hiking, biking, and paddling, trails showcase our natural and urban landscapes, boost physical and mental health, fuel local businesses and tourism, inspire environmental stewardship, and nurture community pride. We are building a brand for all of North Carolina to be recognized as “The Great Trails State”. We will continue to brand outdoor recreation assets to boost tourism and provide healthy recreation for residents.

The North Carolina Horse Council is looking for photos taken on North Carolina horse trails for use on our website, on our social media pages, and in our publications. We also would like to use them to represent equestrian trails on the Great Trail State Coalition website and the Year of the Trail site. We want equestrians to represent the fun and beauty these trails bring you.

If this sounds good, we would love to see the photos you have to submit! Help us represent horse trails among trail user groups. The time is now, send them as quick as possible so that we can have an early representation among user groups for the Year of the Trail.
