The NCHC Horse Industry Grant Program is charged to solicit and fund strong horse industry proposals which enhance our mission and support our organizational goals and strategic plan. Grants are accepted in each category throughout the year until all grant funds have been expended. So far in 2022, the NCHC has given out over $83,000 in grants in 2022. These have included the following:
Industry Program Sponsorships
NCSU: VePac: Sponsored the annual conference of vet students
NCSU: Will be a sponsor of the NCSU Equine Health Symposium
Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail: Updated the NCHC membership
NCACAA: Annual Professional Improvement Conference for NC Association of County Agricultural Agents
National Trails Day: The NCHC will be a sponsor for National Trails Day
Trail Grants
Jordan Lake Trails Conservation Association: Funds awarded to build additional trails at Mason Point
Blue Ridge Horseman’s Association: Funded work to connect Forest Service connectors with Anita Alta Camp area
Health Grants
Two new grants were approved from NCSU
EAAT Grants
A grant was approved to provide funds to build a sensory trail for individuals with disabilities as well as active-duty military service members, and veterans and their families through equine assisted activities
Distressed Horseman’s Fund
This grant category was developed to provide assistance to members of the equine community when an unexpected hardship occurs
