The North Carolina Horse Council awards grants each year to statewide equine organizations to assist in clearing, maintaining and blazing new trails. Last year, we gave grant money to the Blue Ridge Horseman’s Association to help with trail maintenance at Club Lands Anita Alta. We’re always happy to see pictures and videos of the finished products! Thanks to BRHA member Ron Syrko, we can share these videos with you.
This is the Blue Trail that has been completely redone with the grant money and volunteers:
Here are two other trail heads that needed a lot of work. One of the trails has been relocated to higher ground to prevent muddy, wet areas; gravel was still being added at the time of this video.
Great work, BRHA!
From the BRHA:
“Thank you again from all the members of the BRHA, all the new Youth, and Horseback riders that come to ride at one of the very few places left that is amazing.”
